Best in class humidifier (2009-01-06)
After trying several others, this model is a beautiful. It's wisper quiet and easy to fill clean. I haven't had it long enough to know if it will stand the test of time but first 3 months are good.

Disappointing humidifier (2008-12-29)
The one I had left puddles of water on the floor when running. When the tank had to be removed for filling, it was not possible to remove it without dripping water on the floor. Tank was also quite small and had to be filled more than twice a day to humidify a small room. All in all didn't work right, and I returned it. Got a Venta warm air humidifier with electronic switches and indicators from another vendor which I am quite happy with. For some reason the price from Amazon for the Venta humidifier is much higher than it was elsewhere, and I fail to understand why Amazon quote such a high price to begin with---quite a contrast from their normal low prices.

My family now sleeps better (2008-12-28)
This is the second humidifier our family has tried and it is a whole new world for my wife and daughter. Both of them suffer from upper respiratory allergies, and the nasal passage dryness that accompanies decongestant medications is exacerbated by the low humidity where we live. The first humidifier we used was a Hunter model #33201; it was a glorified fan. Even the maximum setting made no difference in our comfort.

We initially bought one SPT SU-4010 and put it in our daughter's room. After the first night having it run at 1/3 intensity on the Cool Mist setting we noticed that it was significantly easier to breathe in her room than the rest of the house. Of course we immediately bought another for our room, my wife no longer has to take decongestants before going to bed.

The unit is easy to use and to refill, but the one thing keeping me from giving this product a full 5 stars is that when you go to refill the tank, you better have a towel handy because it will drip when you separate the tank from the base unit. It's nothing a few seconds or a little shake can't take care of, but if you're not paying attention you'll leave a wet trail to the faucet. And by the way, you can run the unit at 50% intensity for two nights(roughly 18 hours) on a full tank.

I absolutely recommend this product as does my wife. And she is way, way more discriminating than I am.

Dry skin is gone! (2008-12-26)
This humidifier is very quiet and efficient. Our hands are not dry anymore since having this humidifier in our home. Even our dog is not scratching like she used to. Great buy since you can use it year-round.

Nice air (2008-12-22)
Easy to fill. Can get a little noisy sometimes, not sure why it comes and goes. I am happy with the item for the price. Not sure how the warm mist differs from cool mist it doesnt feel warmer.
